For Aamna Shariff, it was a lot of fun to be a part of 'Gidda' sequence in 'Aloo Chaat'. This is significant inasmuch as she is a Muslim girl, and has lived most of her life in Mumbai. Moreover, she doesn't follow Punjabi. So, it wasn't easy for her to act and dance while making herself comfortable in the Punjabi milieu. Aamna minces no word and says that she hasn't ever spoken Punjabi in her life. Not only that, no one ever informed her about the Punjabi 'gidda' sequence in the film. Maybe it was introduced later, she presumes.
When the song was played before her, she asked Robby if it was Punjabi. The moment he said yes, she knew there was some good work ahead since she would have to prepare herself completely for the performance. So, she had fun dancing to the sequence and thoroughly enjoyed herself. In fact, she feels proud that she has ended up endorsing Punjabi language. But mind it that she took no chance and rather took all pains to perform it in the best possible manner. She performed 'gidda' only when she felt very comfortable after doing her rehearsals
